Cocoa is fundamental to our business. We work with Barry Callebaut, who are committed to contributing to a sustainable cocoa supply chain. They have chosen to focus their corporate social responsibility efforts on 3 spheres of activity where they believe they can have the greatest impact:

• Working to empower cocoa farmers
• Working to ensure children are not harmed in cocoa farming
• Empowering employees - by providing a safe, healthy and inspiring work environment and skill enhancement and development opportunities

Corporate social responsibility

Barry Callebaut has production facilities in the major cocoa growing regions of the world. They operate about 40 cocoa and chocolate factories, are present in 26 countries and employ approximately 7,000 people. They recognize that their businesses have an influence on the livelihoods of many people around the world. They believe they have a responsibility to all their stakeholders – shareholders, customers, consumers, suppliers, growers, employees and the communities where they operate.

They are committed to ensuring the safety and quality of their products, safeguarding the environment and contributing to a sustainable cocoa supply chain. They aim to strike a balance between economic growth, ecological balance and social progress.
